Our Pacific Coast Highway road trip begins in San Francisco where you can enjoy the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, experience Alcatraz Prison and the lively Pier 39. You’ll then head East to Yosemite National Park and spend a full day enjoying this iconic park. You’ll drive back to the coast to stay in Monterey before you drive along the winding coastal road to Big Sur. The roadtrip continues into Los Angeles stopping at the Danish village of Solvang on the way. This trip can be extended as far south as San Diego, just north of the Mexican border.

Days 1 - 3:
San Francisco (3 nights)

You’ll start your road trip in San Francisco. Pick up your hire car and then enjoy the first three nights in “Fog City”. Cycle or drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, travel on the cable cars, visit Alcatraz and spend an evening at Pier 39.

Days 4 & 5:
Yosemite (2 nights)

Jump in your car and head east to one of the most famous National Parks, Yosemite. Known for it’s waterfalls, giant Sequoias and deep valleys, Yosemite covers nearly 1200 square miles. You’ll be staying overnight in the park giving you a full day to explore!

Today you’re heading back to the coast. You’re here for two nights so head down to Pebble Beach, the famous golf links which also hosts concourse car shows and is home to the Lone Cypress Tree. You’ll also want to visit downtown Monterey and Carmel while you’re here.

Day 8:
Stunning Big Sur

Get an early start today, you’ve got a great day ahead. You’ll drive along the winding roads of iconic Highway 1 stopping at outstanding vista points along the way. You’ll visit Big Sur, Pfeiffer Falls and drive over famous Bixby Bridge. Don’t rush this drive - take it easy and enjoy this section of the Pacific Coast Highway

Day 9:
Solvang & Santa Barbara

We recommend you start your day with a visit to historic Hearst Castle, a huge property with magificent views of the Pacific Ocean. Then, after lunch you’ll continue your drive south taking a small, but worthwhile detour through the Danish influenced city of Solvang and finally onto Santa Barbara.

Santa Monica (3 nights)

You’ll drive through Los Angeles to arrive at Santa Monica Pier which is also the symbolic end of Route 66. You’ll stay in Los Angeles for three nights so enjoy visiting attractions such as the Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Walk of Fame or perhaps visiting one of the theme parks.
