You’ll arrive in Austin, dubbed the “Live Music Capital of the World” where you’ll spend the first three nights of your holiday enjoying the Texas State Capital and finding out why they want to “Keep Austin Weird”. Then you’ll head south to San Antonio, site of the Alamo for a couple of nights before heading east to Houston, Lake Charles and finally New Orleans where you’ll stay in the famous French Quarter. Known locally as NOLA, you can explore New Orleans on foot and public transport and enjoy their food, architecture, music and culture

Your holiday will begin with a flight into Austin, the Texas state capital for your first three nights. This is a wonderful city to walk around, with live music bars both day and night, the bridge where you can watch over a million bats fly from at sunset, some great paths and Lady Bird Lake. And it’s easy to see why locals want to “Keep Austin Weird”!

San Antonio (2 nights)
For the next two nights you’ll stay in San Antonio, less than 150 miles from the Mexican border. The city is most famous for The Alamo in the Texas fight for independence in 1836. We enjoy wandering the popular River Walk with many riverside shops, bars and restaurants. We might also tell you about a nearby secret place to visit which you’ll love!

Make the easy drive to Houston for you next two nights giving you time to enjoy some of the many attractions of Houston such as the Space Center or Aquarium. Downtown Houston is relatively compact and has a wonderful Theatre district.

Lake Charles (2 nights)
The wildlife surrounding Lake Charles includes over 400 bird species, alligators, raptor and bobcats. Take a guided tour to get close to the wildlife and remember your camera! Explore the history of Lake Charles in the Charpentier Historic District and learn about Mardi Gras at the Museum of Imperial Calcasieu.

For your final leg, you’ll head to the birthplace of jazz, New Orleans where you’ll stay for three nights to enjoy the music and southern charm and maybe a riverboat dinner cruise on the Mississippi.
