During the Great Depression, it became a lifeline for thousands travelling west from Chicago to Los Angeles in search of a better future. Many of these migrants settled along the route, opening diners, gas stations, and motels to serve fellow travellers—remnants of which you’ll discover on your journey.
Stretching nearly 2,500 miles across eight states, Route 66 is more than just a road trip; it’s a journey through time. You’ll pass through ghost towns, encounter abandoned motels and neon-lit diners, and meet unforgettable characters along the way.
While many companies offer Route 66 trips, few truly know it like we do. When to go
May- June & September- October:
Weather is likely to be pleasant for the entire trip. The midwest shouldn’t be too cold and the southwestern states shouldn’t be too hot. These are our most popular months for Route 66

We would expect maximum temperatures to be in the 20°C - 30°C range in the midwest and 25°C - 35°C in the south and southwestern states
Times
Flight times to/from Chicago is around 8 hours and Los Angeles is approx 11 hours.
You’ll drive through 3 time zones. Chicago is 5 hours and Los Angeles is 8 hours behind the UK.
