Palm Springs was a desert retreat for Hollywood stars and also became an occasional home of Elvis and you can take a tour of his honeymoon hideaway where he and Priscilla stayed right after their wedding. It has also become a big resort location with luxury hotels and golf courses.
Early in the trip, as you approach Springfield in Missouri you can turn off Route 66 and head towards Branson, the self styled “Entertainment Capital of the World”. This has long been a tourist destination for Americans and is famous for shows.
Between Monument Valley and Grand Canyon you can visit Page for one or two nights. Nearby Antelope Canyon is a must and it’s definately worth a guided tour around one of these two seperate slot canyons. Lake Powell, a nearby man-made reservoir is amazing! Of course the best way to enjoy it to the full is to either hire a boat or take a boat tour. You can even take a dinner cruise as you enjoy this outstanding location.
